About the event
Join us for a unique installment of the Lab-to-Launch Lounge series, where you'll have the chance to engage with the innovative projects of the Harvard Grid Fellows. Hear Santiago Canete's and Keith Powell's start-up pitches—from an ankle exoskeleton enhancing mobility to cutting-edge, energy-efficient integrated circuits—and provide your feedback in a dynamic 'Shark Tank' format. This event is an unparalleled opportunity for students to delve into entrepreneurial science, gain inspiration for their own projects, and network with researchers shaping the future across diverse technological fields.
Santiago Canete, PhD - Santi is a postdoctoral fellow jointly researching in Professor Conor Walsh’s and Professor Patrick Slade’s labs at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Santiago received his PhD in Robotic Rehabilitation as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, all from Temple University.
Keith Powell, PhD - Keith is a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Marko Loncar’s group at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Keith received this PhD and Bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Sydney. During his PhD, he developed new fabrication processes for etching, bonding and annealing cubic silicon carbide (3C-SiC) on insulators. The work paved the way towards a world first demonstration of an electro-optic modulator in 3C-SiC operating a GHz frequencies.
