About the event

From October 1, 2026 5:00 pm to October 29, 2026 8:30 pm

This I-Corps Spark cohort is in support of Blue Tech innovations across the full spectrum of Earth’s water resources. By translating fundamental research into scalable infrastructure, Blue Tech drives critical advancements in defense, energy, transportation, and aquaculture.

Whether your work focuses on deep-ocean robotics, advanced sensing, maritime propulsion, blue biotech, or climate resilience, this cohort provides the framework to explore translating from lab to market. If your research or technology touches any part of Blue Tech, this cohort is for you – culminating with a resource panel tailored for Blue Tech innovators during the Lessons Learned workshop on October 29th.

Oct 1st: Virtual Kickoff, 5-8 p.m. ET

Week 2: Virtual Office Hours #1

Week 3: Virtual Office Hours #2

Oct 29th: Virtual Closing, 5-8 p.m. ET

What you’ll get:

  • A greater understanding of why your technology has value, and to whom

  • Guided opportunities to find a market for your technology—quite possibly one that had not been previously considered!

  • An increased appreciation for what it takes to commercialize technology and the barriers to adoption

  • An expanded network of like-minded peers, instructors, investors, potential customers, and mentors

The I-Corps program offers a free, 3 week customer discovery course that provides an accessible starting point for researchers interested in translating their research into market-ready solutions.
